I come from Australia but my partner is from the Philippines and is always telling me of the wide variety of tastes to be had.

I first heard about Port Of Manila after meeting one of the owners Tess when I was at work. She\'s so nice and friendly (as most all Fillipinos are) and invited me to bring my partner and try some of her home style cooking.

Immediately when we walked in we were greeted with friendly, smilling staff (again that\'s a Fillipino thing. They\'re famously a very happy, friendly people). That and straight away you feel at home in the cosy restaurant.

I\'ll admit I was nervous about trying some of the dishes, because in Australia we don\'t have anything like most of the food they serve here. Lucky for me I brought a local Fillipino with me and could be guided through the menu (but the staff here could just as easily give advise depending on your own tastes aswell). I\'m glad I was brave and tried something new, because it was soo amazing! We had the siopao and lumpia to start, then pinakbet with rice, and the lechon kawali. We played it safe for that first vist but we\'ve been back soo many times since then. I\'m pretty sure I\'ve almost worked my way through the whole menu and it\'s ALL good.

My all time favourite is the Afritada and rice with lechon kawali as a side to share.. Yum! AND you can\'t leave without trying the halo-halo for dessert.

Do you self a big favour (even if your not Fillipino) and come try this restaurant. You\'ll definitely leave happy and full, already planning your next visit before you walk out the door.

Yes !  I finally found a Filipino restaurant that doesn’t involve a bakery or just a buffet style meal…  Well here is a restaurant  worth going and taking people to for those who want to introduce their friends to Filipino cuisine… Now that I’ve given you most of the facts let get down to the nitty gritty of the yummyness I had for lunch today.  We had the Lumpiang Shanghai and Lumpia  stuffed with vegetables only( Eggrolls).  Both were crisp and fried to perfection served with a sweet chili sauce… We also had Tortang Talong which is an eggplant pan fried with an egg batter and stuffed with ground beef and spring onions… The edges were crisp and the cooked perfectly.  We were too full to have any dessert, but will come again for sure to get some more home cooking…

We dined there just last night and here’s what I thought. The staff were excellent, friendly and chatty, not boring at all, very attentive to our needs. Smiley and polite, entertaining as well. Food was excellent as well. Loved all of our orders, my partner Lee is British but he said he loved loved the pinakbet. I’m gonna try to learn how to cook that. Our pancit bihon was well cooked, so Filipin, and the lechong kawali as well. Everything was cooked to perfection. We both enjoyed our experience, rating it 5/5.

Sa isang taon na nakatira ako sa London, ito ang paborito kong restawran na Pilipino. Ang paboritong kong ulam nila ay ang Lechon Kawali, palaging malutong ang balat ng baboy, at minsan dinadagdagan nila ng mga chicharon. Ang kanilang Palabok ay ang pinakamasarap na palabok na natikman ko mula pa sa pag-alis ko sa Pilipinas, labing-apat na taon na ang nakaraan. Gusto ko rin ang kanilang Bistek Tagalog. Masarap ang Sinigang na Baboy…
