Dining experience

Jun 19, 2013 by Richard Barker

Went to the Port of Manila restuarant last night to celebrate an anniversary as my girlfriend is Filipino also.

The restuarant had a very intimate yet'homely' vibe so you felt immediately comfortable as soon as you arrived.

The food was fantastic also and what was great was the fact they were so accomodating. I pre-ordered an item that wasn't on the menu and with adequate notice, they made sure I had it on the night which was excellent.

The prices are also more than reasonable making it all in all a great night.

Highly recommend.

great all round

I love bicol express and lumpiang sariwa here. My 2 sons had their 1st birthday celebrations in this restaurant, i think we made a good choice because our guests were really happy with the food , we also did not have any problem in decorating the place as how we wanted it to be as the staffs were helpful. We Will definitely consider this restaurant again for future parties or get together. Thank you Port of Manila!!!

Yes !  I finally found a Filipino restaurant that doesn’t involve a bakery or just a buffet style meal…  Well here is a restaurant  worth going and taking people to for those who want to introduce their friends to Filipino cuisine… Now that I’ve given you most of the facts let get down to the nitty gritty of the yummyness I had for lunch today.  We had the Lumpiang Shanghai and Lumpia  stuffed with vegetables only( Eggrolls).  Both were crisp and fried to perfection served with a sweet chili sauce… We also had Tortang Talong which is an eggplant pan fried with an egg batter and stuffed with ground beef and spring onions… The edges were crisp and the cooked perfectly.  We were too full to have any dessert, but will come again for sure to get some more home cooking…

Port of Manila offers the tantalising cuisine of the Philippines, which has some of the most exciting dishes you’ll find in London…

First of all, Philippine dishes are an intoxicating blend of Hispanic, Chinese, American and other Asian influences. So you’ll find dishes such as paellas, roasted pig and noodles with a twist, combining salt, sour and sweet flavours.

Port of Manila has a homely feel, where you can kick back and relax after a stressful day. On the evening I was there, we were joined by a lively party of Filipinos who were friends of Felix, the proprietor.

Lee and Selle (1 June 2011)

We dined there just last night and here’s what I thought. The staff were excellent, friendly and chatty, not boring at all, very attentive to our needs. Smiley and polite, entertaining as well. Food was excellent as well. Loved all of our orders, my partner Lee is British but he said he loved loved the pinakbet. I’m gonna try to learn how to cook that. Our pancit bihon was well cooked, so Filipin, and the lechong kawali as well. Everything was cooked to perfection. We both enjoyed our experience, rating it 5/5.
